Two Long-Time GF Fire Dept. Employees Retire

Battalion Chief Rick Coulter and Fire Marshal Jerry Vein are both retiring effective January 1st. The two account for nearly 70 years of experience with the department.

Two long-time employees of the Grand Forks Fire Department are retiring effective January 1st. Battalion Chief Rick Coulter and Fire Marshal Jerry Vein are both retiring. The two account for nearly 70 years of experience with the department.

Coulter started with the Grand Forks Fire Department on October 1, 1972. He worked his way up through the ranks of Firefighter, Relief Driver, Driver, Captain and was promoted to Battalion Chief on July 11, 1999. Chief Coulter is retiring after 38 years and 3 months with the department.

Vein started with the Grand Forks Fire Department on June 1, 1979. He worked his way up through the ranks of Firefigher, Relief Driver and was promoted to Fire Marshal on March 1, 1994. Vein is retiring after 31 years and 7 months with the department.
