Man Pleads Guilty to Double-Fatal GF Crash

An East Grand Forks man facing homicide charges after a crash that killed two people plead guilty in court Thursday.

An East Grand Forks man facing homicide charges after a crash that killed two people plead guilty in court Thursday.

In an agreement, 25-year-old Celso Garza plead guilty to driving under the influence, two counts of homicide while fleeing an officer and two counts of assault while fleeing an officer.

Four misdemeanor charges were dismissed.

Police say Garza was speeding in Grand Forks while trying to escape police officers for running a red light.

He hit another car, killing two of four people in it and injuring two others.

Garza will be sentenced in March.
