MOORHEAD – Police say a Stephen, Minn., woman has died after the car she was driving crashed into a wall of apartment garages Sunday in south Moorhead.

Anna Marie Sang, 51, was pronounced dead Sunday evening at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, Lt. Jim Nielsen stated in a news release.

The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. when Sang was heading south on 34th Street near the Meadows Golf Course.

Her car crossed the median and stuck two light poles on the east side of the street before coming back into the southbound lanes, Moorhead police said.

Sang’s car then crossed the median once again and rammed into a row of apartment garages, heavily damaging the garage’s west side wall as well as vehicles inside the garage.

The crash caused significant damage to a boat and two vehicles inside the garage at the time of the crash.

Some debris caught fire but and was quickly extinguished, said Sgt. Mike Detloff in a news release.

Detloff said officers suspect Sang may have suffered a medical condition at the time of the accident. She was unconscious at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
