Walsh County Sheriff Recall Vote to be Held April 12
The special election for Walsh County Sheriff has been set for Tuesday, April 12. Sheriff Lauren Wild's name will be placed automatically on the ballot.
The special election for Walsh County Sheriff has been set for Tuesday, April 12.
Walsh County Auditor Sharon Kinsala verified 1,265 signatures on the recall petition. The petition needed only 1,236 signatures.
Sheriff Lauren Wild's name will be placed automatically on the ballot.
As of Monday, no one had petitioned to be placed on the ballot for the Sheriff's race.
Those wanting to run for sheriff have until February 11th to petition.
The special election petition started when Sheriff Lauren Wild fired former Deputy Ron Nord after the Novemeber when Nord ran against wild for Sheriff.
The election is estimated to cost around $20,000.
