The fire at 1504 6th Avenue North in Grand Forks is believed to have started in the bathroom on the second floor.

No one was inside the home when the fire started, and no one was injured, but the fire ruptured a water main, which led to considerable water damage.

The homeless animals are staying at the Circle of Friends Humane Society. The Humane Society takes in animals removed from their home because of certain situations.

The animals will be cared for as long as they need a home.
