The Grand Forks Salvation Army Major is optimistic the organization will reach its fundraising goal and raise more money than ever before.
It was a record-setting year for bell ringing in Grand Forks. The Salvation Army was aiming to raise $110,000 but exceeded that by $30,000.
The entire Christmas fundraising goal is $280,000. That includes mail-in donations, along with others. Right now the Salvation Army is at 80% of that goal. They have until January 15th, and Major Baugh is hopeful.
Major Harold Baugh says, “We get a pretty good influx about this time of the year. People remember that they didn't write that check, and they come through, so that's always good for us.”
