Grand Forks Is #4 In Nation For Lowest Unemployment

In another sign that North Dakota's economy might be the envy of the nation, the state's three biggest cities had the first, second and fourth lowest unemployment rates in the country for the month of November.

Grand Forks was fourth, while Fargo and Bismarck were first and second in the nation.

North Dakota Job Service in Grand Forks says the rankings reflect the strength of the local economy.

The agency says jobs are currently being filled in the Medical fields, construction and manufacturing fields.

"I just think that the entrepreneurs run their business like they want to be in business for a long time. They way their changes carefully and they expect to be here for a long time," said Keith Reitmeier with Job Service North Dakota.

Reitmeier says right now they have around 1 thousand jobs openings listed.
