The new Grand Forks Sheriff, Bob Rost promoted two sergeants; Gary Grove and B.J. Maxson as lieutenants to fill his old position as chief deputy.

After the first week on duty, Maxson is excited for the changes taking place in the department.

Duties will be split between the two lieutenants making work run more smoothly.

"You can spread your attention to the areas that need it and keep the communication open with everybody. Instead of having six different areas, you've only got the two or three to worry about." Lieutenant B.J. Maxson said.

The Lieutenants will also be attending city council meetings around the area to help serve Grand Forks and smaller communities better.
