Sioux use late flurry to tip Robert MorrisMatt Frattin's 20th goal of season breaks scoreless tie, propels UND to sweep
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Matt Frattin and Danny Kristo scored goals and North Dakota goalie Aaron Dell stopped 30 shots as the Fighting Sioux beat Robert Morris of Pennsylvania 2-1 Saturday in men's college hockey.
The win gave North Dakota (16-5-2) a sweep of their two-game series. The Sioux beat the Pioneers 8-0 on Friday. They have won seven straight games and are 8-0-1 in their last nine games.
All of the scoring, including Frattin's nation-leading 20th goal, came in the third period with 4:01 remaining.
Kristo followed Frattin's goal at 18:59 for a 2-0 lead.
The Colonials (12-7-2) got a goal by Nathan Longpre at 19:40.
Eric Levine made 33 saves for Robert Morris, a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association.
UND resumes Western Collegiate Hockey Association play Jan. 14 and 15 at home against Minnesota. The series will be televised on the Fighting Sioux Sports Network.
