East Grand Forks Flood Control Says They're Prepared For What Could Be a Spring FloodEast Grand Forks, Minn. (WDAZ TV) - East Grand Forks officials are getting ready for what could be a spring flood, and said people do not have to worry yet.
Emergency Manager Randy Gust says his flood crew is proactive, and city leaders are keeping a close eye on snow and water levels.
If they notice any problems, the city will start putting up flood walls and closures.
Gust says the above average snowfall is similar to another terrible winter.
"The depth of the snow is similar to what we saw in '97, from what I understand. But the water level, the water content is much less," said Gust.
The city will start flood control meetings in a few weeks.
