FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Fargo police say car and garage break-ins have made it a Grinch-like holiday for some residents.

The Forum reports (http://bit.ly/tcsJzn) that a rash of thefts from cars and unlocked garages occurred late Christmas Eve into early Christmas Day on the south side of town.

Sgt. Kevin Pallas says someone broke a window in one vehicle to remove a present.

Pallas says residents should keep their valuables indoors, where they will be safer.
