Hillsboro native Amanda Kaur, 27, has plead not guilty to first-degree murder after her husband was found dead in their New Underwood, SD, home.

The judge at Tuesday's arraignment gave prosecutors until Feb. 15 to decide if Kaur will receive the death penalty.

Kaur is charged in the Nov. 28 death of her husband, 26-year-old Ira Kaur at the couple's home. Authorities allege she shot her husband in the head, took her children out for breakfast and then shot him a second time several hours later.

Authorities also say Kaur made the murder scene look like a suicide.

Ira Kaur was a sergeant at Ellsworth Air Force Base which is near Rapid City, South Dakota.

He was also stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base from 2005 to 2007.
