West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The man who crashed into a West Fargo home, then took off, says he'll turn himself in Monday. That from his attorney tonight. It happened in the 100 block of 15th Avenue East just after 3 this morning.

West Fargo Police say that speed was most likely a factor in this incident. The driver lost control right about here and then slid across the street and smashed into the garage.

What is believed to be a 2003 to 2007 GMC Diesel pick up truck or suv was traveling westbound on 15th Avenue east before the driver lost control.

West Fargo Police Detective Derek Cruff was on the scene collecting evidence and found a hole in the garage from the vehicles tail pipe, it matched that of the described vehicle. Police were contacted by an attorney from the Vogel Law Firm who states that his client is responsible for the accident and will turn himself in on Monday.

DEREK CRUFF - Detective, West Fargo Police: “It was early in the morning so it is hard to say what the reasoning it was that he did not stay on the scene.”

There is substantial damage to the structure and the vehicle and boat inside of the garage. There is no damage estimate yet. The driver could face fleeing from a scene charges.
