Officials at the Grand Forks Information office say they are urging drivers to yield to emergency vehicles after a number of recent incidents where motorists failed to stop or stopped in the left lane.

When an emergency response vehicle - fire truck, police car or ambulance - is approaching your vehicle, you should always pull to the right side of the road, stop and let the vehicle pass.

Emergency vehicles drive at high rates of speed at times and may need to make a quick turn to access a side street or other area.
