DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — Organizers are gearing up for an annual ice fishing tournament on Devils Lake that typically is among the largest in the country.
Fire Chief Jim Moe tells The Devils Lake Journal that the Devils Lake Volunteer Fire Department Ice Fishing Tournament has sold all 15,000 tickets for the 27th annual event, which will pay out $190,000 in prizes.
Last year, 4,400 anglers took part in the tournament. This year's event on Six Mile Bay is Jan. 29.
