The Griggs County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help to gather information that could lead them to the body of a Cooperstown man murdered earlier this month.

The Griggs County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's help to gather information that could lead them to the body of a Cooperstown man murdered earlier this month.

The Sheriff is releasing a photo of a maroon 1995 GMC Safari Van with North Dakota license plate number GKZ 294.

They are asking for information from anyone that may have seen this van between Cooperstown and the Fargo-Moorhead area between January 1, 2011 and January 4, 2011.

Monday WDAZ told you that authorities have suspended the search for a Cooperstown man's body, and that they were seeking information on the van.

54-year-old Kurt Johnson was shot in the forehead and then decapitated. Authorities say Johnson's head was found in the basement of Daniel Wacht's Cooperstown home. His body has not been found.

Wacht is charged with murder. On December 31st a witness reported seeing Wacht pushing Johnson into the cargo area of a burgundy van.

If you saw the van or have any information please contact the Griggs County Sheriff’s Office at: 701-797-2202 or your local law enforcement agency.
