FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A driver who missed a stop sign, leading to a collision that killed a Fargo couple, was sentenced Tuesday to 10 days in jail.

Neil Walton had pleaded guilty to reckless driving for failing to stop at the intersection of two county roads south of Fargo in April.

Rob and Deb Baumbach were killed when their motorcycle collided with Walton's truck.

The Forum reported that Walton will be on supervised probation for 18 months and is required to do 50 hours of community service.

Investigators determined that the 32-year-old farmer from Lisbon was not speeding and was not intoxicated.

Cass County prosecutors had asked for a 180-day jail sentence. The maximum sentence is one year in jail.
