The bitter cold did not keep a few students from going out to ski with a UND celebrity Wednesday.

First Lady Marcia Kelley helped kick off the second annual Ski UND.

Kelley said she and her husband President Robert Kelley are avid cross country skiers and loves seeing students cross country ski to stay active in the winter.

A temporary ski route is located just west of the Wellness Center on a portion of the bike path that runs along the English Coulee between Sixth Avenue North and Gateway Drive.

According to the First Lady, it is easy to hit the trails.

"If you're a UND student, faculty or staff just bring your ID and you can check out some skis. If you've got your own, bring them along!"

UND's first couple typically host, "Ski With the Kelleys" together. This year the president was in Bismarck.
