Governor Jack Dalrymple and Senator John Hoeven flew into Devils Lake Friday, both keeping an eye on the rising Devils Lake.

Both Dalrymple and Hoeven seemed optimistic as they spoke with city leaders about the urgency facing the Devils Lake Basin.

Both said there are many local, state and federal agencies at work trying to prepare for the worst.

Although there is an emergency declaration declared, Governor Dalrymple says there is no need for people to panic.

He understands the water is close to homes, over roads, and at a record level, but everyone is doing what they can, as fast as they can.

"Generally speaking, we just want to reassure everybody that things are moving forward," said Dalrymple.

He says he's committed to doing what he can to help the Devils Lake Basin fight the rising waters.
