Travel Alert Issued for Central and SW North Dakota

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a Travel Alert for the central and southwest portions of North Dakota.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a Travel Alert for the central and southwest portions of North Dakota. Conditions are such that motorists can still travel, but should be advised that blowing snow is sticking to the roadway creating wet roads, areas of heavy slush, and reduced visibility. Wet roadways are expected to turn into ice as the temperatures drop into the evening. Motorists are encouraged to reduced speeds and drive according to the conditions

South central and southwest portions of the state are experiencing blowing snow that is sticking to the roadway and creating areas of heavy slush. Cities affected by the Travel Alert in south central and south west portions of the state include: Beach, Belfield, Bowman, Hettinger, Dickinson, Beulah, Center, Glen Ullin, Flasher, and surrounding areas.

North central portions of the state are experiencing blowing snow causing wet roadways and areas of reduced visibility. Cities affected by the Travel Alert in north central portions of the state include: Minot, Kenmare, Garrison, Parshall, Velva, Harvey, Bottineau, and surrounding areas.
