Fast-pitch softball season doesn't start for a couple months, but one team is hitting the diamond in the snow.
The diamond is still covered with snow but this weekend that may be the least of some players worries.
Teachers from the Devils Lake School District will be playing against each other in snow softball.
The game is a fundraiser for the Devils Lake Fast-pitch team.
The team has been selling tickets and say they're getting a pretty good response from the public.
They say this type of event is something that's a little different.
"It's a little bit different than just selling a food product and I had talked to my cousin about a snow softball game she had played in at UND and I started thinking about it and thought 'let's run with the idea,'" says Kayla Frappier, the head coach of the fast pitch team.
There will be games for the spectators after each inning as well as concessions.
The game starts at 1 p.m. this Sunday at the fast-pitch diamond near Rugar Park.
The team is also selling parking passes incase you don't want to brave the elements.
$5.00 will get you on the third baseline.
