North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that the Towner County Ambulance Service Board violated the open meetings laws when it held a committee meeting to discuss replacing the current manager without providing notice to the public.

North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that the Towner County Ambulance Service Board violated the open meetings laws when it held a committee meeting to discuss replacing the current manager without providing notice to the public.

The meeting was held on August 6th, 2010 and according to the Towner County Ambulance Service Board, it was not a meeting of the actual board, it was a meeting of the committee created by the board during an April meeting.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says the board needs to provide information from that meeting to the public through the county newspaper, at their office and to any person who requests the minutes.
