Police say at around 7 p.m. Thursday, a man approached a woman at her Grand Forks home and demanded money.
The victim told police that as she was driving to her home at the 4800 block of 5th Avenue North, she noticed a man standing by her fence. She drove her vehicle into the garage and started to unload her groceries.
The victim said the man then came into her garage and asked her for money. After saying no, she walked towards her house door and opened it. The male suspect then grabbed her by the waist, but the victim was able to fight herself free.
Police say the victim then shut the door and called 911. The male subject fled the area, but police don't know which direction he went.
The suspect had his face covered with a scarf or mask and was wearing a red hoodie or jacket and black pants. Police say the suspect is around 5'10" with a medium build.
The victim said she didn't see the man holding any weapon.
Police examined footprints around the home and the case is still under investigation.
