Dickinson State University retired the numbers of three college softball players today, at a packed memorial service for them.

The softball jerseys of 22-year-old Kyrstin Gemar of San Diego, 21-year-old Ashley Neufeld of Brandon, Manitoba and 20-year-old Afton Williamson of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; were frame and presented to their families. Many in the crowd wore T-shirts made specially in their memory.

Bev Neufeld, Ashley's mother, said the team now has an angel in the outfield.

The campus of about 2,700 students was in shock after the bodies were found Tuesday northwest of Dickinson in their vehicle in a livestock pond.

Williamson's roommate, Megan Farmer, says she helped Williamson's mother move her belongings. She said it was a sad job.

But she said Dickinson State is "really a family" where people help each other.
