A Council Member and Legislator: Kreun Uses Technology to do BothA Grand Forks city council member is using Skype to stay in touch with what's going on at council meetings.
A Grand Forks city council member is using Skype to stay in touch with what's going on at council meetings.
Curt Kreun is a council member, but he also serves in the North Dakota legislature, which causes him to be in Bismarck during some council meetings in Grand Forks. In the past, city council members in his same position mainly called in by phone.
Skype is a video chat done over the computer that allows you to see and hear the person on the other end.
Now City Council Member Kreun is using Skype because he says it actually has a better audio connection.
He also says you can get all of the non-verbal communication using Skype too.
Kreun says, “You get to see the people who come up and testify. You get more than just a name, and you get to see their body language and the expressions on their face.”
