MCI Lays Off Pembina Workers
40 have lost jobs in last 6 weeks.By: Casey Wonnenberg, WDAZ
10 employees were laid off today at Motor Coach Industries in Pembina. And 30 others lost their jobs in October.
A public relations specialist with the company says it was a line rate adjustment, meaning they were laid off because of the poor market and lower demand for buses.
All of those laid off were hourly employees.
212 people are still employed at the Pembina plant.
The company laid off 200 workers from its Winnipeg plant last year.
