It was very sad day in the Larimore area as the community said goodbye to one of their own.

Andrew Bakke was only 18 years old.

He was born with Down Syndrome and someone everyone in the community considered a friend.

Bakke passed away Sunday of complications with pneumonia. There were many tears as the community said farewell to a good friend.

Andrew's family and friends filled the gym at the Larimore High School auditorium Friday.

Andrew was involved in many activities in town, including the area Special Olympics.

He was also the school polar bear mascot for several sports, but his costume he didn't fool many.

"You could always tell it was Andrew, He was doing his little woddle, just dancing and having a good time," classmate and friend Kyle Kleven said.

Reporter: Friends say Andrew's infectious smile and upbeat attitude was what made him someone that they will never forget.

Andrew's family says they're proud he was the 2010 Prom Prince and 2010 Homecoming King candidate. Judging by the number of people at the funeral, he had a big impact on the Larimore community.
