GF City Council Could Pick Library Site Tonight
Monday's City Council meeting in Grand Forks could end with a site being picked for the proposed new library.
Monday's City Council meeting in Grand Forks could end with a site being picked for the proposed new library.
This comes a week after it was to pick a site for people to vote on in a special election in May.
The library board recommended the council choose the site where the current library sits.
Council members couldn't agree if that site is the right choice and some would like to open up the process for more community feedback.
One council member said a site does not need to be picked for the process to continue.
"At some point either the library board or the council could pick a site whether it's before or after the vote. But we have to pick a site eventually," said council member Tyrone Grandstrand.
Council members will also start looking at ballot language for the special election.
