UNDATED (AP) - A monthly analysis by The Associated Press shows that economic stress continues to be low in the Dakotas.

The analysis found that nationwide, economic stress inched up in December because higher foreclosures outweighed lower unemployment. Foreclosure rates rose in 33 states.

The AP's index calculates a score from 1 to 100 based on unemployment, foreclosure and bankruptcy rates. A higher score signals more stress. North Dakota had the lowest stress score in December, at 4.65, followed by Nebraska at 5.38 and South Dakota at 5.69. Nevada was the highest, at 22.56.
