Some eager swimmers dived into a tough competition, at a Special Olympics Swim meet this morning.
17 athletes made a splash in today's swim meet. Swimmers compete in freestyle and backstroke events and relay races. A big splash contest added some extra fun for athletes.
Business students were excited to help out the Special Olympics Program, since it has been years since a swim meet has been held in Grand Forks.
Alexander Crauss, UND Business Student, says, "Thinking about this throughout the entire process, it really started to hit about a week or so ago that this is actually happening and coming in here today and seeing everyone and how they're having fun. It's a really good feeling, I've never felt anything quite like this before."
Those that competed today will gear up for the state competition later this year.
