Athletes now days are being pushed to a whole new level, expanding the technology of training, people are now even working on their eyesight. Student athletes all the way to NFL superstars are trying to get an edge on their hand eye coordination.

"There we go, nice cut."

Tom Nistler is a first baseman at Thompson High School, who wanted to improve his game.

"Contrast sensitivity is up in the 99th percentile so its pretty amazing."

And that he did, with the help of Nike's Sparq program. It's a 6 week course that enhances visual performance by challenging the athlete with different drills.

"Concentrate."

Max Miller/SPORTS VISION PROGRAM MANAGER: "When athletes think about working out, it's all about speed and strength but what they don't realize is 80% of what they take in is through their visual system."

Tom Nistler/BASEBALL PLAYER: "I thought it was going to be way different than it was. I thought it was going to be like drill after drill after drill but it's actually pretty fun."

Tom's skills improved so much in the past month and a half--he's setting records.

"OH MAN! By the way, Tom's got the record."

But I'm not too far behind the 16-year old

These strobe glasses block the visual information the athlete sees, making it harder to catch the ball--but once the glasses come up, the results are immediate.

Miller: "It goes from clear to dark, clear to dark, clear to dark."

Nistler: "I thought I was missing everyone then I take them off and its so much easier than it was before."

The glasses force the athlete to anticipate and track the ball more efficiently. But it's not just on the field where athletes see results.

Miller: "Enhances their reading and comprehension and you know concentration as well."

Tom: "More confident than I was."

Miller: "I mean there's just been tremendous results."
