BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (STEN'-juhm) says two Bismarck police officers who shot a man after a standoff at a mobile home court were justified in doing so.
Stenehjem says the use of force was "reasonable and necessary."
The officers shot Glenn Lovgren on Jan. 4 after authorities say Lovgren pointed a rifle at them following a four-hour standoff. The officers were placed on administrative leave while the shooting was investigated, which is standard procedure.
The 43-year-old Lovgren is charged with terrorizing and illegal possession of a firearm.
