LAMOURE, N.D. (AP) — Classes were canceled Monday and Tuesday at the school in LaMoure following a fire late Friday, and a girls basketball game set for Monday in LaMoure was rescheduled for the following day in Verona.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation. Superintendent Mitch Carlson tells The Jamestown Sun that the fire does not appear suspicious.

No one was hurt in the fire that began in the school's family and consumer sciences classroom. The flames did not spread but the building was filled with smoke. A damage estimate was not immediately released.

The K-12 school in the southeast North Dakota town has about 280 students.
