Darrin Anderson, 35, has plead guilty to traveling from Walhalla, ND, to East Grand Forks to have sex with a 13-year-old in exchange for $300.
Anderson was charged with travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
According to a release issued Wednesday, Anderson, using the alias Tyler Anderson, made a Facebook account with the fictitious identity. Anderson contacted the 13-year-old, and then began texting the victim using his real identity.
Anderson traveled from Walhalla to East Grand Forks in order to engage in sex in exchange for the $300.
After the incident was reported, law enforcement interviewed the 13-year-old victim. Law enforcement acquired a warrant for Anderson's Facebook profile and chat history.
According to information provided by Facebook, Anderson engaged in hundreds of private chats with adolescent girls.
The charge of travel to engage in illicit sexual conduct carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison.
Anderson has been scheduled for May 2, 2011, in United States District Court in Fargo, North Dakota, at 1:30 p.m.
