FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The value of North Dakota's 2010 crop production as measured by the government increased 36 percent to $7.44 billion.
The Agricultural Statistics Service said its report Thursday did not include values from sugar beet production, which was $249 million in 2009.
All wheat production in 2010 was valued at $2.3 billion, up from $1.8 billion in 2009. The breakdown included a record $1.9 billion for spring wheat, $390 million for durum wheat, and $98.6 million for winter wheat.
Soybeans ranked second overall at $1.56 billion and corn third at a record $1.3 billion.
The Statistics Service determines annual crop value by multiplying the average market price by total production.
