Two Killed, Two Injured in Head-on Collision Near Crookston

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says two people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision near Crookston Thursday afternoon.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Thomas Briggs of rural Mentor and 77-year-old Lawrence Trudeau of rural Red Lake Falls died in the Thursday accident.


The Polk County Sheriff's Office says two people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision near Crookston Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened on Polk County Road 11, four miles east of Crookston shortly after 4 p.m.

The two people injured were initially taken to Riverview Hospital in Crookston and then transferred to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks in serious and critical condition. The two people killed were pronounced dead at the scene.

Crookston Police, Fire, and Ambulance assisted in the accident, along with the Minnesota State Patrol.

It is unclear if weather was a factor in the crash.
