A Thief River Falls police officer has been fired after being charged criminally with theft.
Earlier this month Paul Kezar was charged with 5 counts of receiving stolen property.
Tonight the Thief River Falls city council voted unanimously to dismiss Kezar from the police department.
Pennington County sheriff's deputies were investigating a stolen lawn mower case and found it had been purchased from Kezar.
Investigators believe Kezar was also involved in the theft and sale of boats, trailers and A-T-Vs.
Kezar had worked as an officer with the Thief River Falls police department since January.
He was still in the probationary period of his job.
