A former Thief River Falls police officer who violated his probation will not serve any more time in prison right now.
But he will if he violates his probation again.
Paul Kezar was sentenced Tuesday in Pennington County on a misdemeanor theft charge for stealing four rolls of silver dollar coins from a business that hired him while he was on work release from jail.
Kezar was charged with the probation violation because he was already serving one year in jail for four counts of receiving stolen property.
The Pennington County Attorney's Office requested that he go to prison.
But the judge did not grant that.
