BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A New Town man who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a head-on crash that killed two people has been sentenced to seven years and eight months in federal prison.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 33-year-old Gabriel Black Hawk also was ordered to pay about $7,500 in restitution and spend three years on supervised release following his prison term.

Authorities say Black Hawk was driving drunk and had not been taking prescribed medicine for a seizure disorder when his vehicle collided with another on N.D. Highway 23 near New Town about a year ago. The crash killed 29-year-old Darrell Danks of New Town and his passenger, 39-year-old Kristie Sorensen of Halliday.
