Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says a restraining order filed against the State Board of Higher Education temporarily stopping them from acting on the Sioux nickname and logo issue is valid and the board will comply. Now Stenehjem will represent the board .

Stenehjem says he does not know what he will recommend the board do as their next step until he throughly reviews the suit and restraining order.

Stenejhem hasn't received all the complaints yet and will be at a November 19th State Board of Higher Education meeting to brief the board on what they should do. Until then he says they will comply with the order.

Stenejhem says they have a few different options for a December 9th hearing .

Wayne Stenehjem: "They could ask to have the temporary restraining order lifted they could ask to have a hearing on the underlying lawsuit lots of things could happen."

Stenejhem says he will take immediate action in looking at the order and underlying suit to find an approach that works best for the board.
