UND Celebrates 128 Years at Founders Day

Get out the candles and cake, because there is a 128th birthday celebration in Grand Forks. The University of North Dakota is looking back to 1883 by celebrating Founder's Day.

That year, Dakota territory leaders decided to put the university in Grand Forks.

UND faculty members were honored at a Founder's Day Banquet.

President Robert Kelley says this event marks over a century of university pride.

"This university has made so many contributions to our state and our nation over the 128 years we've been in existence, and we look forward to another 128 years," Kelley said.

UND also celebrated 100 years of their theater arts department.
