Ramsey County Emergency Manager Retires After 22 years

A long-time Ramsey County employee is closing his office door for the last time today. Tim Heisler is leaving his position after spending 22 years with the county.

Tim Heisler is leaving his position after spending 22 years with the county.

When Heisler started his position of Ramsey County Emergency Manager for the county the elevation of Devils Lake was somewhere in the 1420's.

So he saw a lot of change in the Lake Region during his career.

Heisler says the flooding isn't going anywhere and he needs to move on.

He says he will be an ambassador for Devils Lake, letting people know what exactly is going on in the Lake Region.

Heisler says a lot of lessons have been learned from the flooding situation..and there are still many challenges to come.

"Our community will get through this, and we're going to survive. It's just that, that term challenges is going to be in the picture and we're just going to have to deal with certain situations," explained Heisler.

Heisler will start his new position as the Public Information Coordinator for the Devils Lake Area Chamber of Commerce tomorrow.
