The entire University of North Dakota plays a part in a reclassification to Division-1.
To the fans, being a Division-1 university is all about cheering for the home team.
"It's important to remember this is a university-wide endeavor," said Daniella Irle, UND Senior Associate Athletic Director.
The reclassification process is not just about the school's athletics.
"They're also asking broader questions. How does the university function academically and with gender equity to see how they blend into the university's mission," said Irle.
Every ten years the NCAA requires universities to do a self-study. The process allows UND to be more aware of how the athletics program is functioning with the rest of the school's well-being.
Since last summer, committees have been answering these questions. Now, it is open for student and community feedback.
"Because we've been looking this stuff for so long, it's important the public look and say..hey, you forgot something," said Jon Jackson, the UND NCAA Self-Study Chair.
Jackson said the results will be plugged into a very thorough report for the NCAA.
"It's not light reading unless you are an insomniac," said Jackson.
Collecting all of these pieces is kind of like practicing for the big game.
"It's just about figuring out how to get better, and you can always get better," said Irle.
