ROCHESTER, Minn. – Fargo radio personality Scott Hennen is recovering Tuesday following surgery on Monday to remove his colon after pre-cancerous growths were found.

In a video posted on the Mayo Clinic’s website, Hennen said he has battled ulcerative colitis since 1997, and that it had become progressively difficult to control.

The decision to have surgery came after doctors at Mayo Clinic discovered the pre-cancerous growths several months ago.

The surgery was further complicated, he said, because of gastric bypass surgery he had four or five years ago.

On his Facebook page, a post this morning indicated Hennen was “out like a light right now, after a not-so-restful night.”

He has been upgraded to clear liquids, and is hoping for a diet cola later today, and was able to make two 50-feet hallway walks this morning.

Hennen has been a host on The Flag, a Fargo radio station, and earlier with WDAY-AM radio in Fargo.
