Warrant Issued for Fugitive MN Sex Offender

The Minnesota Department of Corrections has issued an arrest warrant for a convicted sex offender who fled a St. Paul halfway house last week.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Department of Corrections has issued an arrest warrant for a convicted sex offender who fled a St. Paul halfway house last week.

Authorities say 42-year-old Eugene Glaraton cut off his electronic ankle bracelet and disappeared Feb. 20, just days after his release from the state prison in Lino Lakes.

Glaraton had been incarcerated for failing to register as a sexl offender, his second such conviction since 2007. He was convicted in 1987 of raping and fondling a 15-year old boy.

Glaraton was last seen with a shaved head and gray mustache and goatee. He has blue eyes, is five feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds.
