The government said North Dakota retained its top ranking among the states last year in the production of all wheat, barley, sunflowers, canola and a few other commodities.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The government said North Dakota retained its

top ranking among the states last year in the production of all

wheat, barley, sunflowers, canola and a few other commodities.

The Agricultural Statistics Service said the state's durum wheat

crop accounted for 62 percent of the nation's production. Spring

wheat made up 45 percent of the nation's total crop. Flaxseed was

94 percent of all U.S. production and canola was 89 percent.

North Dakota had the nation's largest honey crop for the seventh

year in a row.
