A Grand Forks woman facing charges for injuring a man from Grand Forks whose leg had to be amputated will be sentenced in May.

52-year-old Karen Vatnsdal changed her plea to guilty Thursday.

She's charged with driving under the influence and aggravated assault after authorities say she pinned 37-year-old Michael Hart against the back of his truck with her car in October.

The accident happened at the intersection of DeMers and South 30th, where Hart had gotten out of his pickup to get a stroller that had fallen out of the back.

The accident resulted in amputation of his leg below the knee.

Vatnsdal will be sentenced May 2nd.
