MINOT, N.D. (AP) — North Star senior Grant Lindahl scored 14 of his team's first 18 points and finished with 26 to lead the Bearcats past Standing Rock 69-36 Thursday in the first round of the North Dakota boys Class B basketball tournament.
Lindahl had five 3-pointers and 17 points in the second quarter as the Bearcats (25-0) raced out to a 37-15 lead.
Jacob Hagler added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for North Star, which led 7-0 before Standing Rock (12-14) ran off nine straight points in the first quarter. It was all the Bearcats from there.
Kirby St. John's breakaway layup gave the Warriors their only lead at 9-7. St. John finished with 15 points and three 3-pointers.
The Warriors shot just 26 percent and had 21 turnovers.
