Former Art Fest Organizer Changes Embezzlement Plea to Guilty

The former organizer of the Grand Cities Art Fest, accused of embezzling more than $30,000 from a nonprofit group, has changed her plea to guilty.

The former organizer of the Grand Cities Art Fest, accused of embezzling more than $30,000 from a nonprofit group, has changed her plea to guilty.

38-year-old Laurel Bartlett is charged with felony theft.

Bartlett was the executive director of the Downtown Leadership Group, which used to manage Art Fest.

She was fired in March 2008 after the group's board discovered money was missing from the group's bank account.

Bartlett will be sentenced April 20th.
