A couple in Warren, MN, are all smiles after $20 scratch ticket turned into $500,000 in winnings.
"Yeah, I didn't believe it, I had to look at it for an hour and I still didn't believe it," Troy Schroeder said.
Troy and Deanne Schroeder have lived in Warren for over 10 years. Troy goes on fishing trips at Lake of The Woods, but this time was a little different.
Troy stopped at Supermarket Foods in Karlstad on the way and had no idea the luck that was waiting inside.
"It's Aces High, scratch ticket and when I scratched it I did a double take, didn't believe it and I texted her and she didn't believe me," Troy said.
What they didn't believe was the winning ticket Troy had purchased.
Sunday night, when Deanne went to turn in the winning ticket, she was still in shock and so were the cashiers when they saw how much the family had won.
"It just said 'winner, contact lottery offices' so me and the other girl were just screaming and happy," Amerae Knoll, a Jet Stop convenience store employee.
The Schroeders say the money will help them keep up their farm and maybe go on a trip or two.
"Getting the mortgage paid off, being able to have some breathing room with the bills, be able to do more," Deanne Schroeder said.
Deanne and Troy also plan on taking their two kids to Disneyland.
